Cavorting with ComVort in Chicago

We’re honored to have been chosen – pretty cool!

Mariana and I just returned from the annual ComVort Group conference held this year in the Windy City.  It was a fantastic conference with speakers from Boeing, Aon, the Mexican Tourism Board Chicago, Life Fitness and AAAA.

Interestingly, the rhetoric about how to integrate and measure social networking most effectively was a main theme for every country on the map. The biggest takeaways were:

  • The importance of brand consistency
  • If you can’t measure it – don’t do it
  • The importance of weaving emerging media/digital into your agency’s DNA
  • The importance of social media in a crisis situation (in this case the outbreak of H1N1 in Mexico)

It was really interesting to talk to branding, marketing and PR agencies from around the world and discuss case studies and successes (the UK is light years ahead of the U.S. in terms of cheekiness with campaigns and overall irony – no surprise there).  Great to hear how other agencies around the globe are harnessing emerging media and integrating it into their everyday campaigns for clients. We had the opportunity to present our insights on the Americas panel to agencies reaching from South America to Canada.

Overall it was an eye-opening experience, and we look forward to future collaborations with our new partner agencies.
