TURNER World Travelers: Adventures in Argentina

TURNER World Travelers: Adventures in Argentina

Follow TURNER's Angela Berardino on her recent travels.

Where I Went: Argentina; specifically Patagonia and Buenos Aires.

My Favorite Place: Buenos Aires is one of my favorite cities on the planet, and still is, but I also really loved the Glacier National Park in El Calafate.

Best Thing I Ate: Empanadas, alfajores, and gelato (basically every day, so I’m not choosing just one).

Best Thing I Drank: Wine, of course. Lots of big Malbecs. But I also learned how to make and drink Mate, the national drink (it’s like a super bitter tea-like drink).

What I Wish I Knew Before I Went: More Spanish (of course). Also I was way off on the weather in Patagonia; they were having a heat wave and all of my layers were a wasted packing nightmare.

Where I Want To Go Next: Either South Africa or Indonesia; I’ve never spent much time in Africa, and it’s been almost 20 years since I was in Indonesia. I’d like to re-visit with a different, more nuanced lens.
