Lots of big Malbecs. But I also learned how to make and drink Mate, the national drink (it’s like a super bitter tea-like drink).       ***What I Wish I Knew Before I Went:** *More Spanish (of course). Also I was way off on the weather in Patagonia; they were having a heat wave and all of my layers were a wasted packing nightmare. ***Where I Want To Go Next:*** Either South Africa or Indonesia; I’ve never spent much time in Africa, and it’s been almost 20 years since I was in Indonesia.
