Balancing Act

Most of us can barely handle one career.  Charu Suri is juggling two — and thriving. In just a few weeks she’ll be performing at one of the world’s most renowned venues: New York City’s Carnegie Hall. Meanwhile, Suri is also an in-demand travel writer, with bylines in  The New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalNational Geographic, and many more top-tier outlets. Charu took a little bit of time out of her very busy schedule to tell TURNER how she balances it all.

All-Inclusive Appeal

Post-pandemic travelers are falling back in love with all-inclusive resorts, reports TravelPulse’s Claudett Covey. Health and safety are the primary drivers of the trend. “Even those ‘I don’t do all inclusives’ clients are going all-inclusive now,” says Sarah Kline of Time For Travel. “The brands they know, like Marriott and Hyatt, are doing it so maybe they should also.”

Flying The Pet-Friendly Skies

Taking an animal on an airplane has never been simple. But watch out — flying with your pet is about to get a lot more complicated. “A recent C.D.C. rabies rule, pricey pet ‘tickets’ and limits on animals in airline cabins are making traveling with a pet more complicated,” writes Debra Kamin in the New York Times. “You really want to read into the restrictions of your airline and make sure that you can afford it,” says Molly Fergus of TripSavvy. “In some cases, you might end up paying more than your own ticket for your pet.”

Holiday Travel Woes

Prepare yourself for a chaotic holiday travel season, says The Points Guy’s Victoria M. Walker. “Though it’s only late October, however, we’re already seeing worrying signs that people who plan to travel during the Thanksgiving and winter holidays may face significant obstacles, from pricing problems to painfully long lines at airport security,” she writes.
