Bermuda's Newest Happenings: Spring & Summer 2015
The Atlantic’s most charming island, conveniently located less than two hours from many East Coast cities, has big plans for spring and summer 2015. With resumed seasonal flights from a number of major cities such as Philadelphia and Washington D.C., it is now even easier to get to Bermuda to experience all the "Jewel of the Atlantic" has to offer – everything from one-of-a-kind island festivals and a new restaurant from an acclaimed celebrity chef to unprecedented hotel renovations. Some of the top highlights include: Bermuda Buzz
  • Resumed Seasonal Flights: Seasonal flights resumed from Charlotte, New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. in March and April, meaning visitors can now spend less time in transit and more time on Bermuda’s pink sand beaches. Two new seasonal flights were also added this year, including flights from Boston that began in March and flights from New York that will launch May 3rd.
  • Heritage Month & Bermuda Day: This year’s Heritage Month and Bermuda Day theme is “Bermuda: An Atlantic Garden.” This theme encourages visitors and locals to celebrate Bermuda’s beautiful surrounding ocean and coral reefs, as well as the island’s abundance of flora and fauna throughout the month of May. A number of Bermuda Day events will be held on May 25, including the annual Bermuda Day Parade and a series of cycling, roller blading and running races.
  • Old Grand Atlantic Begins Transformation: The first phase of Grand Atlantic’s transformation into a condominium hotel is slated for completion by 2016. Once complete, the mid-market boutique hotel will feature two pools, a funicular elevator to the beach, a bar, restaurant and meeting room.
New Attractions
  • Marcus’ Opening at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, A Fairmont Managed Hotel: On the heels of a $90 million renovation project and recent name change, the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, will open a new restaurant, Marcus’, in May. Chef Marcus Samuelsson created the menu to reflect his own signature international style fused with the flavors of Bermuda. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen, wood burning barbeque pit and views of the Hamilton Harbour.
  • Grotto Bay Beach Resort Opens Natura Spa: Grotto Bay Beach Resort’s new Natura Spa, located in the ancient cave, opened in April. Body treatments are provided inside cabanas, floating on a crystal clear, ocean fed lake surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites.
