Grand Opening: Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Debuts June 15th

The newest property to join the Grand Hyatt family, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen will officially open its doors to visitors and locals alike on Monday, June 15th. Located in the heart of Riviera Maya, the full-service resort is just steps away from the famous Fifth Avenue and offers unparalleled access to the iconic Mamitas Beach. Highlights of the new urban beach hotel include:

ACCOMODATIONS

Neighboring the Caribbean Sea, the 314-room resort includes 36 suites and 20 oceanfront “air suites,” all featuring a refined fusion of sleek and contemporary design aesthetics blended with Maya-inspired elements. The hotel boasts a dramatic entrance, complete with a Mayan Pyramid-shaped water feature, and spectacular architecture that helps reduce environmental impact with a dedicated section of preserved mangrove jungle, serving as a natural wildlife sanctuary. Guests of the resort can enjoy living Grand with curated experiences and technology that allows visitors to be connected in a global way.

CULINARY

The resort features two on-site restaurants: La Cocina, a main family-style restaurant, and The Grill At 1 26, a seafood and steakhouse. With an emphasis on healthy eating, Chef Nadine Waechter Moreno’s menu items feature worldly, thoughtfully crafted dishes that incorporate the use of fresh ingredients sourced from local farms. The paseo, an interactive culinary experience integrated with the lobby and pathway that takes guests all the way to the pool and beach, showcases authentic regional cuisine and snack options. The resort also features numerous bars and lounges, including a dessert bar, juice bar and traditional bars with cocktails featuring high quality spirits and fresh-squeezed juices.

SPA & FITNESS

The 6,000 square-foot Cenote Spa captures the serenity, rejuvenation and beauty of the region’s cenotes through its thoughtful design and cultural offerings. With eight treatment rooms and specialty facilities including hydrotherapy stations, a eucalyptus steam room and fiber optic chromotherapy showers, Cenote Spa offers a rotation of specialty treatments inspired by the season.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY OFFERINGS

To engage the hotel’s youngest guests, Camp Hyatt provides games, crafts and educational activities including discovery walks, balloon decorating, water volleyball and wild life shows for children three through 12-years-old. For older kids, the resort boasts an impressive state-of-the-art teen arcade complete with table tennis, foosball, a 10-person cinema, snacks, arcade and video games.

Meeting rooms and breakout areas featuring state-of-the-art technology are able to accommodate groups of all types and sizes for the most productive business meeting experiences. With over 15,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space and 18 versatile meeting rooms, the Grand Hyatt Playa team assists with every step of event planning process and helps groups choose from different room plans, setups and creative catering options.
