South Carolina’s Blockbuster Bucket List

South Carolina’s Blockbuster Bucket List

With its captivating landscapes and rich history, South Carolina has always been a magnet for filmmakers, from the romantic allure of The Notebook to the thrilling period pieces like The Patriot. To celebrate the incredible South Carolina locations that have graced the silver screen over the years, TURNER and Discover South Carolina joined forces to bring us the exhilarating Blockbuster Bucket List Scavenger Hunt, featuring the world-renowned cinephile influencer, Thomas Duke, hailing all the way from London.

On his popular channels, Duke travels to far-flung destinations to explore his favorite films one location at a time, giving followers a glimpse of iconic spots across the globe. During his time in South Carolina, Duke visited such SC spots as Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens in Mount Pleasant and Cypress Gardens Moncks Corner (both prominently featured in The Notebook, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams); and Colleton Civic Center in Walterboro and Market Square in Varnville (as seen in the Oscar-winning Forrest Gump).

Thanks to Thomas and the Blockbuster Bucket List Scavenger Hunt, film enthusiasts around the world now have South Carolina on their radar as the state that provided the gorgeous backdrop for some of the most iconic films in history.
