Audley Travel Unveils Custom European Trips

Get ready to see Europe like you’ve never seen it before.

Audley Travel is launching a wide array of Custom Trips on the continent. Beginning with experiences in Italy (ranging from truffle hunting in Tuscany to a Vespa tour of Rome), the program will eventually grow to include trips across Europe.

Audley’s approach to building trips is the opposite of cookie cutter. Using a team of in-house “Country Specialists,” Audley offers carefully curated private departures built from first-hand knowledge of the best routes, guides, food, lodging, and local secrets in one specific corner of the world. Audley travelers work with a Specialist from start to finish to plan completely custom trips tailored to travelers’ interests.

What should you expect? Here’s just a sampling of Audley’s Custom Italian adventures:

  • An in-depth exploration of Florence’s many local artisan trades, such as cantucci (biscotti), mosaics, Florentine paper, and Tuscan wine.
  • An overnight stay in an 11th century monastery, enjoying cooking classes and wine tasting.
  • A Bacaro tour of Venice, including the best hidden bars in the Rialto area, sampling Italian snacks known as chicetti together with your tipple of choice.
  • A journey into lesser-known churches in Rome to find masterpieces by famed artists Caravaggio and Bernini, followed by a tour of the Borghese Gallery’s incredible art collection.
  • A back stage tour of the Arena in Verona that takes you into the dressing rooms and areas where the props are stored directly behind the stage.
