TURNER Travel Guide: Toronto's 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend

All of basketball’s biggest stars will come together for a weekend full of excitement, as NBA All-Star Weekend heads to Toronto, February 12-14, 2016. This is the first time the game will be held outside the U.S.!

Toronto native Drake will be hosting this year’s festivities and you can expect names like Steph Curry, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant on the court. Easily accessible from most major US cities, pop up to Toronto to catch the events while exploring all the diverse city has to offer – or perhaps a Valentine’s Day  alternative for those sports enthusiasts!

What to Expect

  • Friday, February 12: The weekend starts off with the always-entertaining NBA All-Star Celebrity Game featuring some of the biggest names in film, television and music squaring off on the court. The BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge will also take place, with some of the league’s newest stars showcasing their skills in a Rookie vs. Sophomore showdown.
  • Saturday, February 13: The Taco Bell Skills Challenge kicks off the day, with the NBA's top guards competing in an obstacle course competition including passes, free throws, lay-ups and agility drills. Next up is the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, displaying the league’s best long-range shooters in a race for the most three-pointers in the given time. The final event of the night is the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest with the league’s most athletic taking the court to show off their jumps as they compete to be crowned the 2016 Slam Dunk Champion.
  • Sunday, February 14: The 2016 NBA All-Star Game – the main event! All of the biggest names from the league come together for a battle on the hardwood. between East and West, featuring greats like Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden.
