TURNER’s Greatest Hits: 2017 Edition

TURNER’s Greatest Hits: 2017 Edition
TURNER celebrated its 20 th anniversary in 2017 with one of its biggest years yet. Read on for just a few highlights …

Best of Show

Bermuda Tourism Authority and agency, TURNER, accept the Best of Show in Public Relations Award at HSMAI's 2016 Adrian Awards Gala at the Marriott Marquis on February 21, 2017 in New York City. (Photo by David Welker/HSMAI) TURNER and our partners at the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) won big at the  60th Adrian Awards ceremony. Presented by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) at the New York Marriott Marquis, this is the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally. TURNER and the BTA beat out a talented, competitive field, securing a Public Relations Platinum Award, which was subsequently awarded the Best of Show distinction for the  Bermuda: Finding an Island’s Adventurous Side campaign. The campaign repositioned the island as an adventure destination, generating a wide array of top-tier media coverage, supporting tourism growth and attracting a younger generation of travelers. Best of Show Awards are the highest honor in each of the three award categories of the evening. (Photo by David Welker/HSMAI)

NYC Reimagined

Screen Shot 2017-05-03 at 4.04.26 PM This spring, TURNER New York unveiled its expanded studio office space and showroom. Designed by New York-based FLOAT Studios, our midtown headquarters features expanded workspace and a modular showroom with a functional, bespoke design and clean touches that inspire. FLOAT reimagined the office entirely, adding an array of floating workspaces and a fully appointed board room for presentations and education sessions. The Pegboard closet doors give us the ability to showcase product in a seamless and presentation-ready way and custom woodwork from Shawn Hollenshead adds texture and function throughout while floating speakers keep the vibe alive. The two new sound insulated phone booths offer privacy, and the abundance of plants and natural light create a serene work environment that’s perfect for inspiring creativity.

A Mighty Win

IMG_8958 The annual Agency Elite awards recognize excellence in PR agencies’ key practice areas, from advocacy, crisis communications and social media to internal communications, media relations and reputation management. This year, TURNER was a 2017 Agency Awards Winner for Marketing Communications (Agency), thanks to our work with the Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) on the  Road to Mighty campaign. TURNER also took home an Honorable Mention in the Media Relations category for our work with the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

Best Places To Work 2017

We already knew working here was the best … but it’s nice to be recognized. In November, TURNER was selected as one of OUTSIDE’s Best Places to Work 2017. Not only are winning companies great workplaces for employees, but they respect the environment and encourage a balance between work and enjoying life in the great outdoors. Just a few of TURNER’s progressive initiatives include:
  • Paid volunteer days
  • Outdoor ideation workshops
  • TURNER U, an ongoing educational series that keeps the team up-to-date on trends, tools and more
  • A thoroughly dog-friendly office environment
  • The philanthropically minded Simply Give program, which supports a variety of nonprofit organizations
  • Regular “recess” team-building excursions
  • A kegerator stocked with craft beer – for when a brainstorm session needs to be taken to the next level

Miami Expansion

miami-turner TURNER went south this year – to Miami, to be exact. Vice President Naureen Kazi is heading up our new office in the Magic City. Our work in Central and Latin America – not to mention Florida and the Caribbean – has grown substantially in the last few years, and we’re excited about establishing a stronger presence in the Miami market. Naureen will lead strategic planning and integrated campaigns for global clients, as well as expand our bilingual service capabilities. Did we mention she’s fluent in six languages?
