It’s that time in February where there’s a very distinct smell and feeling in the air … nope, it’s not love in the air. I’m talking about the cloud of designer perfume swirling, the sound of iPhone cameras snapping, and expensive heels clacking on pavement. Strike a pose: It’s New York Fashion Week. All in all, NYFW is an exquisite parade of beautiful dresses, and the women who showcase them, strutting in stark warehouses bumpin’ with indie-pop remixes.
But maybe you’re not one of the classified elite or even in NYC … Are you supposed to miss out on all of the jaw-dropping gowns, “inspired” hair and makeup, and celeb/blogger street style? No way!!! Praise the fashion gods for Instagram. To ensure that you’re “in the know” even when you’re not “in the show,” be sure to follow the Instagram accounts below during NYFW ’16.
- @EvaChen212: Known for using Boomerang throughout the runway show, her shots give you a slow-motion view of the fabric and the intricacies in the details.
- @ManRepeller: An NYC native with serious clout, there’s promise that Leandra Medine will be Instagramming her way through every show that she’s invited to (which is probably all of them).
- @CFDA: The Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Instagram will undoubtedly provide backstage looks, still model shots, and front row access to the best of shows.
- @TheSartorialist: Famous for his street style photography, The Sartorialist Instagram will feature envy-worthy looks both on and off the runway.
- @ZanitaZanita: Fashion magazine cover star, world-wide notable blogger, Zanita has got us feeling super excited as she’s been Instagramming previews of her outfits for NYFW days early.
- @SongofStyle: Another blogger who has a serious following… She recently Instagrammed a video of her experiences at last year’s NYFW – follow her now to get a glimpse of what to expect this season.
- MODELS: @KendallJenner, @GigiHadid, @BellaHadid @KarlieKloss ... If you aren’t following them already, do so to get a model’s perspective on the craziness of NYFW.
- BRANDS: Follow any brands that you’re a fan of – their accounts usually feature content that no other blogger, photographer, or attendee can get!
