Digital Spring Cleaning

Spring-cleaning can extend beyond your home. There are a number of apps and tools you can use to de-clutter your digital life. One of them is Flic, which sorts through your camera roll and gets rid of those gruesome old selfies to free up space on your phone. Is your inbox filled with emails from brand newsletters/promotions you are subscribed to? Unroll Me is your new best friend. The app allows you to see which companies' mailing lists you're subscribed to and can remove you instantly. Let the (digital) spring-cleaning begin!

Facebook Equinox

Social media has been celebrating trending holidays for some time now. Now, thanks to its “Goodwill Team" (who brought us “Friends Day”) Facebook is rolling out new animations to denote the changing seasons. Facebook’s internal team of artists designed the animations, which will only appear on mobile devices. They serve no other purpose beyond simply announcing the vernal and autumnal equinox and giving users something to organically share. The platform could use a little help in that regard – Facebook claims that original sharing had dropped by 15 percent from last year.

Spring Breakers Go For Google

When looking to book a flight, where do you go first? According to a survey of 2,500 frequent flights, one in ten travelers in North America start their airfare shopping on Google Flights. Travelers from the ages 18-32 years old are more than twice as likely to start their search process with Google Flights. Users were given multiple choice options for their response, which included Google Flights, airline website, OTA (online travel agency), travel agent, Bing/Yahoo, discount travel site or other. Pastel Buzz

In typical Starbucks fashion, the coffee chain released its first ever springtime cups. Customers will be able to get their favorite Starbucks beverage in a colorful pastel green, blue or yellow cup. Some of the cups will feature a small design or a hand drawing. Starbucks says: “There’s nothing quite like those first few bursts of color that indicate the arrival of springtime." We agree. The coffee mavens will only have these cups for a few days, so you should run and get them now…
