In 2017, mobile payment apps are a must-have, especially when almost everyone carries a cell phone McDonald’s is finally jumping on the bandwagon and introducing mobile payment and order ahead features (similar to Starbucks). The app will use geo-fencing technology to track a customer’s location and the nearest restaurant. McDonald’s shared that the typical order process for 2-3 items takes 17 seconds on average at drive-thrus, while mobile ordering will bring the averages down to 10-15 seconds. Now that’s fast food.
